Eyeglasses: The Coolest Thing About Me

It's true.  They're brown and blue and make me look much more interesting than I really am.

I was never cool enough for thigh high boots, spiky hair or big jangly jewelry.  Leopard print clothing? Yeah, right.

But my glasses? Boy, they make me feel uber-cool.

I wish I could squish my entire body behind the lens, they are that cool.

I'd lead important meetings just like that, a pair of killer glasses at the head of the table, no body in sight.

My voice would sound from the glasses, the voice of vision and clear reasoning.  All attention would be focused on the brown and blue framed lens.

No one would dare argue with the depth of my perception

I would be, in a word, VISIONARY.

Love it, particularly your clever italicized words!

I adore my glasses too. I proudly sport my four eyes around town & feel naked (and boring) without them.

Yay for groovy glasses!

Hey, thanks. I feel naked without my glasses too. Recently asked about contacts for 1st time in almost 20 years, but couldn't bring myself to do it.

Where can I buy a pair of those glasses. I want to feel that way!

I can let you have them after I'm done. Although, I plan on having them until my eyeballs fall out. But you're welcome to wait:)

I see why people like it. It's a funny and clever post. I, personally, don't fear large jewelry or animal print. I also have multi coloured eyeglasses (contact lenses by day). I'm not cool enough for any of these things, either. Thoughtful comment on a post?? (ref to #writechat tonight!!) All the best - Lory

This comment mean EVERYTHING. Thoughtful, gives me an image of you, and is quite fun. Thanks so much.

I tried to get contacts once. My brain refused to let my finger anywhere near my eye. After an hour of this self-inflicted torture, the lady gave up. They can't let you take home the contacts until you prove you can use them so she scheduled an appointment for the next week. I never went back. I happily accepted I will be a lifelong glasses wearer. End of story.

Glasses are such a nice accessory. I feel much more at ease in my contacts though. Too bad since glasses are very in compared to when I was young. :-/
